This is a Calgary-based fundrasing project for Japan Earthquake/Asia-Pacific Tsunami that occurred on Friday, 11 March 2011.
This project was launched immidiately after the earthquake (launched on March 12) and now officially hosted by CJCA(Calgary Japanese Community Association).
The main activity of the project is to raise funds by making in exchange of paper cranes, and proceeds will go to organizations like Canadian Red Cross anad Peace Winds Japan (Direct to Japan).
challenge
In order to gather as much support as possible for the Calgarians who are looking to help the victims, WTJ pointed out the urgent need for the web presence that bridges the organization and local supporters.
WTJ requested WordPress-powered website for their long-term and collaborative management with capability to add functions on the fly.
process
To meet their urgent need, I immidiately provided basic yet, functioning wordpress-powered website and transferred contents from their original blog in a day.
I reviewed several charity websites and found out that keeping information architecture simple to inform how people can help and promote this website via social networks were the top priority.
result
I designed & developed wordpress theme in a week and I received positive feedbacks on the clean design and usability.
