Artist’s Statement

I love to create poetic and multi-sensory experience that talks to our heart.

The core idea of the Internet has altered our notion of time and space, decentralizing our body from the traditional time-space coordinates. This decentralization of self suggests diverse interpretations of the state of body, which is no longer merely a physical one – digital body.

In fact, through digital media, we render our body into experience and communication, and our body is continuously extended, multiplied and stored. Like dropped ink in the water will never be back to the original drop, I feel like I am always in flux and feel dizzy from slowly being distant from my own body and dissolved into space.

To interpret the anxiety from the “transparency” by adapting digital media to my body, I aim to re-imagine new relationships between body + space and to sense the beauty and strength in digitally augmented body via intimate experience.

Designer’s Statement

No matter what I am designing, my design should provide meaningful experience.

I am passionate about designing interfaces and services that treat us as humans, not just “users” or “customers”.

As traditional architecture has been adapted to our living environment and cultures, I want to make the structure and solutions as responsive and comfortable as possible for people who live in the architecture.
